Burns & Poe Join United States Postal Service Staffers
To Reinforce “I Need A Job” Sentiment.

In learning via an early morning newscast about the plight of the United States Postal Service workers and their plan to rally nationwide with the hope to save their jobs, Burns & Poe (Keith Burns/Michelle Poe) was moved to lend its voice in their plea.

Postal workers across the country rallied on September 27th at various locations with the objective to be heard–sending a message that cutting jobs isn’t the answer to solving the budget crisis and that other avenues need to be exhausted before resorting to U.S.P.S job losses. The postal service is currently contemplating the close of thousands of post offices, which would leave more than 100,000 workers without jobs.

In an impromptu appearance to support their cause, Keith Burns appeared at the rally held on Church Street in Nashville, in front of Representative Jim Cooper’s office, to make introductions with postal workers while offering words of encouragement and sharing the sentiment of Burns & Poe’s new and timely single, “I Need A Job.” The song (penned by Burns and John Ritter/Blue Steel Records) speaks on behalf of those who are affected by unemployment and simply want and need to work (not only to make ends meet and feed their families, but to feel a sense of self worth). “I Need A Job”is currently at radio.  The “better half” of Burns & Poe, Michelle Poe, was unable to attend due to her commitment to her own second job.

Emerson Drive, November Lyrics.

Artist: Emerson Drive
Song: November
Album: What If?

(Angelo/Brett James)

She was sittin’ on a park bench
Feedin’ pigeons on Beacon Hill
I was takin’ my dog Jack out for a run
We had a little time to kill

I still don’t know if it was Jack or me
That somehow caught her eye
But the next thing I knew we were sittin’ there talkin’
Laughin’ into the night

And from that moment on
She never left my side
Those autumn nights were long
She was the first love of my life

(Chorus:)
I still can feel the softness of her hair
Fallin’ on my face
My arms all around her
There’s always somethin’ ’bout this time of year
That takes me to that place
And I remember
(Yes, I remember)
November
Oh yeah

She was workin’ her way through school
Waitin’ tables at the Hungry Eye
I was playin’ a club down on the waterfront
Afterward she’d come by

Around 3 AM we’d grab some takeout
In the heart of Chinatown
And we’d hang out and stay up all night long
Just talkin’ and messin’ around

I never would have dreamed
We’d ever say goodbye
She felt like the sun to me
On those cold November nights

(Chorus)

Lookin’ back I can’t explain
What happened on that dark December day
I guess we were just two kids
Going different ways

(Chorus)

Emerson Drive, Fall Into Me Lyrics.

Artist: Emerson Drive
Song: Fall Into Me
Album: Emerson Drive

Intro
Right here waiting,
Staying strong,
Come and fall into me,

Verse 1
You say you’ve turned it off,
Hid your heart up on a shelf,
Scared of what it might cost,
To take it down for someone else,
‘Cause lovin him you lost,
Too much of yourself,
Baby can’t you see that he’s not me,

Chorus
And I need you to know you can fall into me,
That my arms are wide open,
And will always be,
Right here waiting, staying strong,
Come and fall into me,

Verse 2
I’ll follow any road, anywhere to get to you,
I’ll open up my soul,
If that’s what you need me to do,
Now baby it’s your move,
All you’ve got to do,
Is believe in love, just believe in us,

Chorus
And I need you to know you can fall into me,
That my arms are wide open,
And will always be,
Right here waiting, staying strong,
Come and fall into me,

Just believe in love
Just believe in us
Baby….

I need you to know you can fall into me
That my arms are wide open
And will always be
Right here waiting, staying strong
Come and fall into me

Come and fall into me
Baby fall into me

Emerson Drive, Only God (Could Stop Me Loving You) Lyrics.

Artist: Emerson Drive
Song: Only God (Could Stop Me Loving You)
Album: Emerson Drive

We saw the moon in Colorado
Made music in Tennessee
We found the gold of El Dorado
It’s so good, making love, you and me

These arms, they will never hold another
This heart, it will always feel like this

Only God could stop me loving you
Only God could tell me not to
He sent you from Heaven
Just to make my dreams come true
When he opened the door
That you came walking through
Only God could stop me loving you

Now we struck oil in Oklahoma
And won the Oscar in Hollywood
And climbed the canyons of Arizona
And baby, making love never felt so good

These lips, no other girl will ever kiss
This heart, it will always feel like this ’cause

(Repeat chorus)

There ain’t no girl
In the whole wide world could take away my heart
And there ain’t no man could steal your hand
And tear us apart
But there is one God in Heaven above
Who gave me love, strong enough to calm my heart

Only God could stop me loving you
Only God could tell me not to
Only God could stop me from loving you
Only God could tell me not to
Only God could stop me loving you

Emerson Drive, I Should Be Sleeping Lyrics.

Artist: Emerson Drive
Song: I Should Be Sleeping
Album: Emerson Drive

I never knew there were such great movies
On TV at 3 a.m.
I’d never guessed at a midnight Tuesday
I could have pizza ordered in
I’ve never been a real night-owl
But these days I’m all turned ’round
There’s only one thing I’m sure of right now

I should be sleeping,’stead of keeping
These late hours I’ve been keeping
I’ve been pacing and retracing
Every step of every move
An even though I’m feeling so right
I’m so happy,still I know
I should be sleeping,’stead of dreamin’ about you

I never knew I was funny
‘Til I went and made you laugh
I never liked a girl that called me: “Honey”
But you did,I like that
I keep thinking about your smile
Tryin’ to read between the lines
Looks like I’ll be here for a while

I should be sleeping,’stead of keeping
These late hours I’ve been keeping
I’ve been pacing and retracing
Every step of every move
An even though I’m feeling so right
I’m so happy,still I know
I should be sleeping,’stead of dreamin’ about you

After just three days (just three days)
One great kiss (One great kiss)
It’s way too soon
To be obsessin’like this

I should be sleeping,’stead of keeping
These late hours I’ve been keeping
I’ve been pacing and retracing
Every step of every move
An even though I’m feeling so right
I’m so happy,still I know
I should be sleeping,’stead of dreamin’ about you

Dreamin’ about you
I should be sleeping, dreamin’ about you
I’m dreamin’ about you, yeah

Darius Rucker, I Got Nothin’ Lyrics.

Artist: Darius Rucker
Song: I Got Nothin’
Album: Charleston, SC 1966

It’s my third cup of coffee
The fifth time I said I’m sorry
The sun slowly peakin’ through the glass
Says we’ve been up all night

We all know where this is going
It’s been a long time coming
Is it really over
Is this really goodbye
Maybe I should say something
Maybe you’d change your mind
Maybe maybe
Buy a little more time

But I got nothing
No magic words
To stop you leaving
To end this hurt
I’m just blank
I’m staring into space
Prying please please let me think of something
‘Cause I got nothing

I watch you pack your things
You look down at your ring
Slowly slip off and then lay it on our bed
Maybe I should pick it up
And get down on my knees
Tell you what you want to hear
And give you what you need

But I got nothing
No magic words
To stop you leaving
To end this hurt
I’m just blank
I’m staring into space
Prying please please let me think of something
‘Cause I got nothing

You’re almost at the door
And you stop and turn around
You’re eyes are begging me
Please say something right now

But I got nothing
No magic words
To stop your leaving
I can’t end this hurt
I’m just blank
I’m staring into space
Prying please please let me think of something
‘Cause if you go
I got nothing

Darryl Worley, Awful, Beautiful Life Lyrics.

Artist: Darryl Worley
Song: Awful, Beautiful Life
Album: Darryl Worley

I woke up early with a poundin’ in my head
I’d been out the night before with all my friends
A little worried, kinda wonderin’ what I did
I said, ” Lord, please forgive me for my sins.”
My wife wanted to kill me, but she tried to save me first
“You’re goin’ if I have to drag your butt to church.”

I love this crazy, tragic,
Sometimes almost magic,
Awful, beautful life

I read the hymns and kinda sorta sang along
And made it through the Sunday sermon wide awake
We met the family for dinner at our home
Drank some beer, watched a game, and cooked some steaks
My little brother had a big fight with his wife
And my poor mother sat between’em both all night

I love this crazy, tragic,
Sometimes almost magic,
Awful, beautful life

We said a prayer for Cousin Michael in Iraq
We’re all aware that he may never make it back
We talked about the way we missed his stupid jokes
And how he loved to be a soldier more than most

I laid in bed that night and thought about the day
And how my life is like a roller coaster ride
The ups and downs and crazy turns along the way
It’ll throw you off if you don’t hold on tight
You can’t really smile until you’ve shed some tears
I could die today or I might live on for years

I love this crazy, tragic,
Sometimes almost magic,
Awful, beautful life

I love this crazy, tragic,
Sometimes almost magic,
Awful, beautful life

Alright
It’s a beautiful life
Awful, beautiful, life
I love this life
It’s a beautiful life

Darryl Worley, “Have You Forgotten?” Official Full Length Country Music Video with Lyrics.

Darryl Worley, Have You Forgotten? Lyrics.

Artist: Darryl Worley
Song: Have You Forgotten?
Album: Have You Forgotten?

I hear people saying we don’t need this war
But, I say there’s some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn’t get to keep ’em by backing down
They say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in
Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it’s too disturbing for you and me
It’ll just breed anger that’s what the experts say
If it was up to me I’d show it everyday
Some say this country’s just out looking for a fight
Well, after 9/11 man I’d have to say that’s right

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And we vowed to get the one’s behind bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I’ve been there with the soldiers
Who’ve gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they’re fighting for

Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Yeah, some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost and those left to carry on
Don’t you tell me not to worry about bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?

Darryl Worley, Tennessee River Run Lyrics.

Artist: Darryl Worley
Song: Tennessee River Run
Album: I Miss My Friend

Worked all week, got it all done
Let’s make a Tennessee River run

Hey everybody, I think the time is right
Let’s get together down where the catfish bite
Cooped up all winter waitin’ on a day like this
It’s the way I feel when I’m rockin’ on the water
Baby that I can’t resist

BBQ grill, summertime jam
Just a mile above the Pickwick dam
Party on the water, whole lotta fun
Time to make a Tennessee River run

I’ll get my bass boat, crank up your party barge
We’ll drop these anchors out where the big boats are
Break out a cooler, pass out some ice cold beer
Look at all the people out here on the water
Man I can’t believe we’re here

Swingin’ on a rope, gonna have a ball
Jumpin’ off the Yellow Creek waterfall
Checking out the honeys baking in the sun
God bless a Tennessee River run

Doo-doo-n-dee-dee
Oh what a weekend, we’ve had some time to play
I should be leavin’ tomorrow’s a work week day
I just might call in, tell ’em that I can’t get home
Does anybody else want to stay a little longer
Or am I gonna be alone?

Floatin’ on a tube, gonna weigh a ton
Cajun sausage on a hot dog bun
BBQ grill, summertime jam
Just a mile above the Pickwick dam

Party on the water, whole lotta fun
Time to make a Tennessee River run

Doo-doo-n-dee-dee

Nothing like a Tennessee River run
I love a Tennessee River run
Whoop up a Tennessee River run
